A customer contacted us saying, “A hole has opened up in the engine hood, it looks bad, and I’m not comfortable using it like this…”
The damaged area was quite noticeable, and there were concerns about water and dust getting inside. However, replacing the entire engine hood would take both time and money, so the customer asked whether we could handle it with a repair if possible.

Repair process

Surface preparation of the damaged area
To ensure the FRP bonded securely, we removed the paint around the damaged area and dressed the cracked edges. We also performed thorough degreasing and cleaning.

FRP laminate repair
Using resin and mat specifically for FRP repair, we built up and formed the cracked area layer by layer. This restored both strength and shape at the same time.

Surface finishing and painting
After smoothing the repaired surface with putty, we prepared the base and applied paint. We mixed the color to match as closely as possible to the genuine OEM color to ensure a natural finish.
